Equine Hydrotherapy
Biography
After completing a Bsc degree in Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at the University of Greenwich in 2017, I then decided I wanted to extend my knowledge further so I completed a master's degree at Hartpury University in Equestrian Performance and Rehabilitation, the programme consists of taught modules delivered via weekend study blocks to facilitate study alongside your career (Hartpury College, 2014).
Once I had graduated from my masters I then went on with my local therapist Joe Warrick to gain further experience in the field. A year later I went on to open Hooves Equine Hydrotherapy Centre in Kent.
I have a wide range of experience with horses and ponies from backing and breaking in youngsters to competing at county level in show jumping and dressage. From a very young age I have been surrounded by horses as my family are all very committed to the equine life too. My interest for studying Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation came when my ex racehorse suffered a tendon injury in his foreleg, whilst we went through the recovery process I spent a lot of time at the vets and I was really intrigued to find out about the anatomy of the horse and how severe the damage really was.
By studying the course I now have the knowledge to understand each and every muscle in the equines body, and I now specifically look at Hydrotherapy using the pools and spas to rehabilitate injured horses and ponies.
